Monsignor Slade team 'Plays Pink'Published 01/04/09
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Monsignor Slade Catholic School "Middies" Field Hockey team hosted a "Play Pink - Play 4 the Cure" game to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation on Oct. 19 at Annapolis High School vs. the St. Mary's Pixie Sticks.
Courtesy photoThe team consists of (standing): Amanda Vigil, Alyssa Nieves, Blaine Donnelly, Emily Lemanski, 'Tot' Bodnar, Erin Shanahan, Coach Joan Johnson, Katherine Thomas, Rachael Huston, Coach Kelly Shanahan, Bailey Foster, Maggie King and (kneeling): Morgan Winterbottom, Emily Bird, Rebecca Bahr, Courtney Johnson, Sarah Asseng and Katie Audino (who was missing). With permission from Donna Liberto, sports supervisor, the girls wore "Play4TheCure" Slade shirts, pink ribbons and played with an official pink ball. The team, coached by Joan Johnson of Severna Park and Kelly Shanahan of Pasadena, raised more than $900 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation....
