KENNEDYVILLE, Md. (AP) — Two Kent County artists are making art and making money, in nearly the middle of nowhere, and yet the two can be anywhere and everywhere when they want to be.
Joe Karlik and his wife, Nicole in den Bosch, turned a Civil War-era schoolhouse and former general store on a half-acre lot into a comfortable home and Locust Grove Studios, from which they send art projects around the country.
"We're two crazy artists," the 34-year-old Karlik said, "hiding in Kent County doing crazy stuff."
