To be happy, you must generate between four to six positive emotions for every negative feeling you experience. This is the formula scientists have found is essential for creating authentic happiness. Sadly, most people don't have nearly enough positivity in their daily lives. But we all have an inner wellspring that we can draw upon to give ourselves a positivity boost whenever we're languishing.

There are no formulae, prescriptions, recipes and "in order to's" for happiness. The wisdom traditions say that happiness is inherent in what it is to be a human being.
I share a point of view with Robert Holden, Ph.D., author of the book, "Be Happy" in which he states "the deeper you inquire into the nature of true happiness, the more fully happiness will reveal itself to you."
So, I don't know about the need to generate 4-6 positive emotions in order to be happy!
