This is a story about a group of people providing fantastic humanitarian help to poor people without adequate medical care in foreign countries.

The star of this tale is U.S. Navy Capt. Colleen Gallagher. She has just finished a four-month tour of duty aboard the hospital ship USNS Comfort. This story is the result of a private tour of the ship by Gallagher when it docked in Port Everglades in July. In March the USNS Comfort left for the Caribbean and Central and South America on a mercy mission called "Continuing Promise 2009" to provide medical, dental and veterinary services.
