"We all kind of want to break free," said Max, 18. "We all want something to rebel against."

"Anybody who writes a great book like that deserves to be celebrated," added Key junior Mike Norfleet, 16.

Visitors to the upcoming Annapolis Book Festival will get the chance to do just that - since the event commemorates the 100th...

And to AK, I would argue that junior year, during American history, is the perfect time to read Huckleberry Finn, and the way Key explores the book is incredibly challenging -- including the metaphor of the river as life, the exploration of what it means to be a human being, etc. I remember Huck Finn as one of my most beloved and challenging reads, both during college and for a preceptorial program at St. John's College. I guess there are just a lot of different levels of reading Huck Finn. Believe me, as Max's mom, I expect a lot more from Key. And, for the most part, Key has delivered.
