I was recently the beneficiary of some wonderful acts of "random kindness" in which people offered help and support out of the goodness of their hearts. In fact, when I expressed my deep appreciation each time that these individuals were so generous with their time and attention, they all had a similar reaction. "You don't have to keep telling me how grateful you are. It was my pleasure."
In reflecting on having been blessed by so much positivity from a number of people who expected nothing in return, it occurred to me that these folks shared one common trait. They are all very happy.

Showing kindness brings happiness - 2010-04-13 17:24:04
Human beings naturally want to contribute to others- it's part of their DNA. Happiness is also at the core of being human. When we "come from" a place of happiness and contribution, it enlivens others and ourselves.
