Maia Molina-Schaefer made history last night when she became the first woman announced as a competitor in the Naval Academy's 63rd edition of the Brigade Boxing Championships. Then she made more history by winning the first bout of the evening in exciting fashion.
Later in the evening, A.J. Mallo made some history of his own when he became just the 11th boxer to win four Brigade Boxing championships, topping Will Recalde in the 125-pound match.
Following the pugilism, Mallo was rewarded with the Tony Rubino Trophy, which goes to four-time Brigade champions. He attempted...
