Mens lacrosse: Mids catch bad break heading into next roundPublished 05/18/05
Navy's lacrosse team has lost one of its most versatile players with the revelation that midfielder Steve Looney has a broken foot and will not play the rest of this season. Looney, who fills three key roles for the Mids, suffered the injury in practice last Thursday while battling for a ground ball off a faceoff. He jumped over a teammate and landed awkwardly, breaking a weight-bearing bone in his foot. "Unless they come up with a miracle cure, Steve is out for the remainder of the season," Navy head coach Richie Meade admitted yesterday.
