It was a scrappy, gritty Navy team that almost ruined the party.
In front a crowd of 4,852, UALR held off the Midshipmen 61-57 in the new Jack Stephens Center last night. Stephens, an Arkansas native who graduate from the Naval Academy in 1946, donated most of the money for the on-campus arena that was officially christened against the Middies.
The Trojans (1-1) used a late first-half run and never lost the lead despite a late run by Navy (0-2).
