On the surface, Duke is one of the worst teams in college football this season. Duke is 0-8 and ranks near the bottom of Division I-A in every major statistical category. The Blue Devils stand 115th out of 119 schools in scoring offense, 102nd in scoring defense. Duke opened the season with a shutout loss to Division I-AA Richmond (13-0).
