Leaving court for gridiron Junior guard Corey Johnson has left the Navy basketball team and intends to join the football program. Johnson was a three-year starter who served as co-captain for the Midshipmen this past season. He was a Patriot League All-Rookie selection after averaging 9.6 points and leading the team in both assists (3.1) and steals (2.0). Injuries curtailed Johnson's sophomore season as he played in only 19 of 28 games.
