Billy Looney was one of the most highly regarded recruits the Navy lacrosse program has landed in recent years. Looney was a US Lacrosse High School All-American and had scholarship offers from most of the top programs in the country. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder, who was also a Washington-area All-Metro selection as a football player at DeMatha Catholic, chose Navy over Maryland and Cornell primarily for family reasons. Two older brothers, Brendan and Steve, were already members of the Navy varsity when Billy was a high school senior.
