When athletic director Chet Gladchuk sauntered over to shake hands on the field prior to the post-game playing of Blue and Gold, Johnson appeared unwilling to accept congratulations – pointing angrily at the scoreboard and offering a few choice words.
Suffice to say, Johnson wasn’t ticked off about Navy’s 74 points or 680 yards of total offense. Rather, Johnson was fed up with another shoddy defensive effort – Navy’s ninth in a row following a respectable performance in the season...

Disgusting Defense - 2007-11-18 11:54:38
Ever since he came to Navy, I feel Coach Green had done a very good job. Today Defensive Coordinator's jobs are very difficult, especially with the spread offense - look at what App State did to Michigan. The secondary lost Little & Miles from last year's team; then Delitz, King and Buffin were lost to injury.
I remember Coach Johnson stating repeatedly how he doesn't like to start Plebes. Yet, they have principally been in the secondary while the defense has performed so poorly. I feel that the defense started to show improvement in the second half of the North Texas game, when they put in Thrasher. Playing another First Class, Corey Johnson, more, has also helped. I feel that when King and Buffin return, Navy will be ready for Utah.
