Navy was embarrassed by Johns Hopkins during the regular season meeting between the schools. The Blue Jays scored four unanswered goals early in the first quarter and were never threatened en route to an impressive 12-5 victory.
That day, nothing went right for the Midshipmen. Head coach Richie Meade had hoped to grab an early lead then set the tempo. Just the opposite occurred. Meade knew it was important to get good goalkeeping and win the face-off battle. Neither of those things happened.
