Navy has signed an agreement to play in the 2009 Texas Bowl if it is eligible for the postseason, sports information director Scott Strasemeier confirmed.
Texas Bowl organizers announced the deal with Navy this week while also revealing plans to petition the NCAA for an upgrade to New Year's Day status during a media luncheon at Reliant Stadium on Thursday.
