Navy water polo team sticks to routine after record yearPublished 09/05/08
Veteran Navy water polo coach Mike Schofield knows better than to put too much emphasis on tomorrow's early-season showdown with two-time defending NCAA champion California.
Courtesy photo Navy’s Michael Mulvey scored 76 goals last season.The Mids are coming off the best season in school history which included a 30-6 record, a second straight CWPA Eastern Championship, and a third place finish in the NCAA Championships. Navy's bid for a national title was ended by the Bears, who defeated the Mids in the semifinals, 8-5. The teams will meet again tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Lejeune Hall as part of this weekend's Navy Open. The Mids will play their first game of the season...
