One wouldn't think that after five straight winning seasons and a school record for consecutive bowl trips that Navy's football team would need a victory to validate its status as one of the nation's premier programs. However, for the more pessimistic academy football followers, that's precisely what Saturday's victory over 16th-ranked Wake Forest amounted to. It was a victory that should finally allow some long-time fans to exhale and enjoy these fall moments.
