Navy quarterback connects with NFL trailblazerPublished 11/25/08
Jan. 31, 1988. That is the day Doug Williams led the Washington Redskins to a 42-10 rout of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII. It's also the day Ricky Dobbs was born. When Dobbs was told of that connection as a young boy, he learned more about Williams and decided he wanted to follow in his footsteps by becoming a National Football League quarterback. "Once I found out that I was born on the same day Doug Williams won the Super Bowl I decided he would be a good person to look up to and that I would try to accomplish the same things he did," Dobbs said.
