Navy defense pulls rank

PHILADELPHIA - The Navy defense is hearing different questions about this year's unit compared to last year.

The Midshipmen face off against the Black Knights in Philadelphia for their 109th meeting on the football field. Navy scored on their third play and never looked back dominating the game 34 - 0.

Gone are the days of being asked why it gave up so many yards or points, but now the questions center around the impressive turnaround from a year ago.

Yesterday's shutout was the first over Army since 1978. It was also the second straight shutout for the Mids, following a 16-0 win over Northern Illinois on Nov. 25. The last time Navy posted back-to-back shutouts in a season was 1986.
