Sports Comment: A tough day for Navy familyPublished 12/07/08
PHILADELPHIA - Just before leaving the locker room to run onto Lincoln Financial Field to face archrival Army, Navy safety Jeff Deliz sent a text message to fellow senior and close friend Rashawn King. The Midshipmen face off against the Black Knights in Philadelphia for their 109th meeting on the football field. Navy scored on their third play and never looked back dominating the game 34 - 0.
"This game is for you. Just stay strong," Deliz wrote. King was not in Philadelphia yesterday. The cornerback who had started Navy's previous 11 games this season was home in Raleigh, N.C., with close family following the unexpected death of his father. Maj.
