Days of pomp end with Navy sinking Army

Longtime Army-Navy goers Paul and Kathleen Withington were torn this year: Their son Jeff is a junior at the Naval Academy, while their other son, Mark, is a plebe at West Point.

The Midshipmen face off against the Black Knights in Philadelphia for their 109th meeting on the football field. Navy scored on their third play and never looked back dominating the game 34 - 0.

But when Navy took the clear lead in the second quarter of yesterday's game, the West Chester, Pa., couple made an executive decision.

"We're rooting for Army now, to balance it out," Mr. Withington said, even though he himself served in the Navy.
