Navy fans show spirit despite loss

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Going to a college football bowl game usually means flying to a warm-weather city to play a new and exciting opponent.

That wasn't the case for Navy fans this year, who made a short trip to chilly RFK Stadium yesterday to watch a rematch between the Midshipmen and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the inaugural EagleBank Bowl.

But the modest crowd of Navy fans were still on their game yesterday, cheering their Mids even as they suffered a hard-fought defeat, 29-19.

Fans tried to put a positive spin on the year, despite closing out the season with a loss.
