Mids expect bounty of depth for 2009 Navy defensive coordinator Buddy Green is looking forward to coaching his unit next season, and no wonder. Navy's defense made dramatic strides during the 2008 campaign and concluded the regular season with consecutive shutouts. The Midshipmen had the most improved scoring defense in the Football Bowl Subdivision and forced 30 turnovers, almost twice the number as the year before. Green thinks the Navy defense can be even better in 2009 due to the fact it returns eight of 11 starters and 10 second-string performers.
