Midshipmen's defense turning heads

Head coach Ken Niumatalolo has called the Navy defense "the strength of our team" on many occasions this season. Niumatalolo has backed up those words by electing to kick off and put the defense on the field whenever the team wins the pre-game coin toss.

Naval Academy athletics beat writer Bill Wagner and host Dave Broughton, both of The Capital sports department, take a look at the Wake Forest game on Saturday, October 24. They also discuss this Saturdays game against Temple.

Co-captain Ross Pospisil and mates have repeatedly rewarded Niumatalolo for that faith. Navy ranks in the upper fourth of the NCAA rankings in every defensive category, allowing 20.8 points (39th nationally) and 316 total yards (30th) per game.
