WASHINGTON - Navy head coach Billy Lange has been involved with basketball long enough to know that one possession does not normally make a difference in a game. However, Lange can pinpoint the possession that may have prevented Navy from upsetting George Washington last night in the opening game of the BB&T Classic.
The Midshipmen had just used an 11-2 run to cut a 10-point deficit down to one with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game. A missed jumper by the Colonials had given the visitors an opportunity to continue the run and take the lead.
