Bellino was the star of the 1960 Navy team that compiled a 9-1 record and finished the regular season ranked No. 4 in the nation. Navy was invited to appear in the 1961 Orange Bowl in Miami, where it would meet a Missouri squad that had been ranked No. 1 for most of the season.
