Depth making up for experience gap
By BILL WAGNER, Staff Writer
Head coach Ken Niumatalolo has said throughout preseason that slotback was arguably the deepest, most competitive position on the Navy football team. After nearly a month of practice, that statement has proven true as the coaching staff has confidence in six slots while another three more are fighting hard to make the travel squad.
"We feel very good about that position. Even though we don't have a lot of experience, we do have some quality depth there," Niumatalolo said again this week.
