A Naval Academy midshipman is being treated for bacterial meningitis, prompting efforts to prevent an outbreak of the contagious illness in his company, health and academy officials said yesterday. The plebe, whose name is being withheld, was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center Thursday after complaining of a high fever, severe headache and nausea, according to a statement issued by the academy. His condition was not immediately available.
