While it's not unusual for Naval Academy graduates to go on to become government leaders and captains of industry, a select few are following a much different drummer - they are working novelists. And two of these dedicated storytellers have just published books. Veteran suspense writer P.T. Deutermann, Class of 1963 and a retired Navy captain, has just published "The Cat Dancers," his 10th novel. John Scanlan, Class of 1983, published "Dink-Gadink" this fall, a humorous novel that deals with the life of midshipmen at the academy.
