Except for leading the band during a song at the annual Christmas concert, this will be the first time that Lt. Cmdr. Brian Walden, the academy's 28th bandmaster, will take charge of the ensemble.
The program, to be presented at the Naval Academy Chapel, will feature the music that an audience member would have heard 100 years ago when Zimmerman, the academy's sixth bandmaster, led the group.
