To celebrate an end to the 43-game drought against Notre Dame's football team, the Naval Academy's 4,400-member student body got a day off from classes today.

The Navy sidline erupts as Saturday's game finally comes to its dramatic conclusion and the scoreboard show Navy on to of Notre Dame.
On top of that, plebes actually got to see some daylight yesterday because of Navy's 46-44 victory on Saturday. Normally, plebes, or freshmen, are required to remain on the Yard on Sundays to study, but they were allowed to go out into town yesterday from noon to 10 p.m., as a reward for finally beating Notre Dame.
Today, the three upper classes - but not the freshmen - were given liberty until 4 p.m., according to a Naval Academy spokesman. The upperclassmen could use the...

Pinch me...I must be dreaming. A day off because Navy beat a HORRIBLE Notre Dame team...even if it was a good team...a day off because the football team won a game. USNA needs to get its priorites straight.
