Scholar: Diversity key to military strengthPublished 02/05/08
Military officers must understand that diversity is a reality, and mentor future leaders from all ethnic groups, a speaker told an audience of almost 5,000 at the Naval Academy last night.
To do otherwise, Dr. Samuel Betances said, would compromise our national security.
"Diversity is the right thing," Dr. Betances said. "We have to be in conflict with the traditions of exclusion.
