Midshipmen pay tribute to their fallen comradePublished 05/15/08
Between the triumphant Sea Trials on the grass and water of the Naval Academy on Tuesday and the frantic climb up the Herndon Monument today, there was a time apart from the normal farewell rituals plebes use to mark the end of their first year.

Yesterday, there was another type of goodbye - one that was not joyous, an obstacle that could not be overcome by sheer physical determination or training - as classmates joined with the family and friends of Midshipman 4th Class Kristen Dickmann for her funeral in the Naval Academy Chapel.
Mourners were reminded during the service that everything has its own season: birth and death, weeping...
