Book documents photo history of academy

A new book about the Naval Academy not only contains roughly 200 black and white photographs dating back to the school's origins,

but also provides a clear and concise history of how the humble little school grew into a prestigious institution.

Naval Academy Museum Associate Director James W. Cheevers wrote the text and photo captions, and the archival photos were taken by famed Civil War photographer Matthew Brady and photojournalist Frances B. Johnston, as well as countless other shutterbugs.
