Officials prepare seniors for emergenciesPublished 09/14/05
Patricia O'Brien has long stashed nonperishable food and batteries in her Edgewater home - just in case of an emergency. But Ms. O'Brien wanted to make sure the rest of the county was as ready for a disaster as she was. Ms. O'Brien was one of the about 40 senior citizens to attend a program about emergency preparedness last week at the South County Senior Center in Edgewater. The Citizen Corps Council of Anne Arundel County and Annapolis hosted the event as a kickoff to National Preparedness month.
