Neighbors renew call for police substation MARYLAND CITY -- Following a recent west county crime wave, area residents are repeating their calls for a police substation in west county. Forty-five Maryland City and Russett residents turned out to the Maryland City Volunteer Fire Department Tuesday to talk about at least four break-ins this month and 15 vehicle thefts in 15 days. "We were promised a substation when I moved in," said John West, who moved to Maryland City 43 years ago.
