Staffers from the Naval Federal Credit Union and the Navy Support Activity Station have taken the school under their wing, pitching in with biweekly reading visits, donations of loads and loads of books, school uniforms and even gold dollar coins for homework achievement. And once a year students get a ride on a Navy yard patrol boat.
