"There's a satisfaction in knowing you're making a difference for a better society," Mrs. Hapchuk said.
Mrs. Hapchuk has been a member of the county's branch of AAUW for 23 years, the last seven of which she has been actively involved in the national group's lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C. Currently she is one of only two from Anne Arundel County doing so.
