Guitar hero gets new gear : Pasadena man donates ax to Battle of the Bands championPublished 03/15/08
Don Lawrence practices what he preaches and now Paul Nelson can practice the guitar again.

South River High School student Paul Nelson, who won best guitarist honors at the Battle of the Bands, plays an Ibanez Prestige RGA, donated to him by Don Lawrence of Pasadena. Mr. Lawrence gave Mr. Nelson the guitar after reading that Mr. Nelson’s only guitar was stolen Feb. 15.
Mr. Lawrence, musician for the El Bethel Community Church in Pasadena, donated an Ibanez Prestige RGA guitar to Mr. Nelson, the reigning Battle of the Bands six-string champion, after hearing the teen's beloved guitar was stolen.
