Boys & Girls Clubs to honor first 'Wall of Inspiration' inducteesPublished 03/18/08
Over lunch at the old Fred's Restaurant in Parole in the late 1980s, Edward D. Casey - the hard-nosed newspaper man - was brutally blunt.

Jacqueline and Edward Casey in their home on the Broadneck Peninsula. Mr. Casey is one of four Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County leaders to be honored as the first inductees into the clubs 'Wall of Inspiration.'
He did not have time to get involved setting up a Boys & Girls Club in Annapolis. No way, he recalled recently.
Mr. Casey, now retired as longtime executive editor of The Capital, said he was too busy to get involved in a start-up operation. His lunch companion was the persuasive Archie Avedesian, director of the Washington area Boys & Girls Club. Mr. Casey had never heard of Mr. Avedesian when "he called out of the blue" and invited him to the lunch back...
