The 17-year-old will be a "knob," or freshman, at The Citadel, located in Charleston, S.C. He didn't wrestle with his decision: his father is a 1981 graduate of The Citadel. Four-and-a-half years from now, Brett is planning to launch his career with the Army's Special Forces Unit and eventually hopes to have a second career as an FBI agent. The Odenton resident has applied for an ROTC scholarship, and expects to major in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Spanish.
