Anne Arundel NAACP elects new presidentPublished 11/30/08
A lifelong community activist and 20-plus year member of the NAACP was elected last week to head the county's chapter of the civil rights organization. Jacqueline Allsup, 60, of Glen Burnie, will be sworn in as president Dec. 17 at the Arundel Center. "The NAACP is a powerful organization in need of reinvigorating. Our change will embrace and cherish the rich history of the NAACP. We cannot be intimidated by change. Instead we must seek to understand, embrace, and manage it," said Mrs. Allsup, an Anne Arundel Community College nursing professor.
