Gently brushing away several dead leaves, he added: "Here's some goldenrod. It's indigenous to the area and good at surviving. I also have some blue flag irises, switchgrass, lobelia, Little Joes (Joe Pye Weed) and cinnamon fern."
He was describing plants in the rain garden he designed, dug and planted in the Round Bay area of Severna Park, adjacent to the Baltimore Annapolis Trail, as part of earning his Eagle Scout Award.
