The walk, part of a nationwide effort involving 300 communities, is being held to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A secondary goal of the event is to bring the much-stigmatized subject of suicide "out of the darkness."
Severna Park residents Gwen Douma Harring, Steve Anstett and Nancy Lincoln Reynolds, members of the Guiding Coalition for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, are spearheading the event.
