AAMC nurses use art to provide cheerier hospital atmospherePublished 09/22/09
As nurses, Mary Cohn and Annette Bargmann spend a lot of time in patient rooms, often armed with medication. But this summer, they were armed with acrylic paint.

Without the paintings, patients would be staring at a blank window covering. Their task was an urgent one, since ongoing construction at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Parole resulted in the covering of some windows within the Acute Care Pavilion. The natural light that came through patients' windows was replaced with a film covering to darken the windows, shielding the patients from the occasional glare of construction equipment and providing them with privacy. Cohn and Bargmann used their artistic talents to transform those windows...
