Navy youth hockey teams excel

Several Navy Youth Hockey teams met with success in recent action.

The NYH Squirt Gold skaters defeated the Tri City Eagles, 4-1, on goals by Ben Pazulski, Caden Cote and Max Newnam. J.T. Compton and Trevor Wiggins each had an assist and goalie Jane Paprcka made eight saves to secure the victory.

Goalie Zack Lewis's 36 saves and goals by Kevin Sheehy, Matt Burzenski and Konnor De Pol led the Navy Midget Blue squad to a 3-2 victory over the Virginia Wild.

Despite goalie Nicholas Newnam's 19 saves the Navy Blue Squirt team fell 3-0 to Montgomery in their first Capital Beltway Hockey League game of the year.

ST. MARTIN'S SOCCER: The St. Martin's Bulldogs (5-3-3) played two 2-2 draws this week.

Against the Annapolis Area Christian School Eagles, Nathan Udell scored both of the Bulldogs goals. Michael and Connor Scotton each had an assist and Josh Bucciero made nine saves. Michelle Whissel, Elise Pease-Neugebauer, Annie Pease-Neugebauer and Brooke Ledford played well for St. Martin's.
