BASEBALL TRYOUTS: The U14 Bay Blitz travel baseball team will be holding tryouts for players born after April 30, 1995. MAGO VISTA BASKETBALL: Mago Vista Basketball is in its final weeks of registration for the 2009-2010 season. Mago Vista provides community level and county level basketball teams for boys and girls ages 5 through 17. E-mail the basketball commissioner at basketball@magovista.org. CHESAPEAKE CLUB LACROSSE: CC Lax, a year-round program for girls, will hold open tryouts for the classes off 2011-2016 on Halloween weekend.

Tryouts will be held on Oct. 31 on the back fields of Annapolis High for graduation years of 2014-2016 from noon-2 p.m. and the classes of 2011-2013 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Tryouts will be held on Nov. 1 on the turf field at Broadneck Hight for graduation years 2011-2012 from 10 a.m.-noon, 2013-2014 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 2015-2016 from 3-4:30 p.m..

SOUTH COUNTY REGISTRATION: The South County Youth Association is registering for clinic basketball (ages 5-7) with a registration deadline of Nov. 1. The SCYA is now registering for county wrestling (ages 8-15), with a registration deadline of Dec. 15, and clinic wrestling (ages 4-7), with a registration deadline of Jan. 15. CROFTON BASEBALL: Crofton Athletic Council is holding tryouts for select baseball teams in 2010. Tryouts are for teams from 10U-13U. The tryouts will be held at Bell Branch Park on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and Nov. 8 from noon-4 p.m. If interested, contact croftonbaseball@comcast.net.

SOUTHERN BASKETBALL: Southern Athletic Association will be holding open gym at Southern Middle School for Anne Arundel County basketball teams in girls 8-and-over, 10U, 12U and 14U on Wednesdays in October from 6-9 p.m. Boys open gym will be on Thursday in October, with 8-and-above and 10U from 6-7:30 p.m., and 12U and 14U from 7:30-9. The registration fee is $80. All registrations must be turn-in by Nov. 9. MAYS BASKETBALL: Maryland Academy of Youth Sports (MAYS) basketball program will be having open gym for boys between the ages 12-14 at the Marley Elementary School gymnasium starting on Wednesday, Nov. 4 and Friday, Nov. 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The gym will be open every Wednesday and Friday for the month of November. AACS BASKETBALL CLINIC: The Annapolis Area Christian School basketball coaching staff will host a free basketball clinic on Nov. 21, 10 a.m.-noon, for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. SPark Indoor Field Hockey: Team registrations are being accepted by the Spark Indoor Field Hockey for their winter season. Leagues are forming in the following age groups: High School, Middle School and Elementary School Leagues. The High School League will be held on Monday evenings. T2 LACROSSE: T2 Storm Lacrosse, an elite boys lacrosse organization founded and operated by U.S. Naval Academy lacrosse alumni, has announced its Fall Instructional and Skills Sessions, which will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 1 and 8 at Severn High School turf fields. INSTRUCTIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE: Registration is now open for the i9 Sports 2009-2010 winter basketball league. This is an instructional league with a heavy emphasis on teaching basketball fundamentals. The format will be half clinic instruction and half weekly games. The eight-week league is for boys and girls ages 4-14 and will be held Saturday afternoons beginning Dec. 5 at Annapolis Area Christian School-Bestgate Campus.
