The county Department of Health's latest round of H1N1, or swine flu, vaccination appointments have been filled.
This morning, about 30 operators began taking calls at 8:30 a.m. to fill the 600 appointment slots that were available for both the injectable and mist forms of the vaccine. The phone lines were overloaded at one point and technicians were called in to address the problem.
All of the appointments were filled shortly after 11 a.m., officials said. On Friday, the department filled 450 appointments in two hours.
The vaccine is being made available for the following priority groups:
• Pregnant women.• Those who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months old.• Health care and emergency medical services personnel.• Healthy people aged 6 months to 24 years old.• Anyone age 25 to 64 with a chronic medical condition or compromised immune system.
The Department of Health will provide updates when more doses of the vaccine become available.
