22-year-old visitor found dead in city

ANNAPOLIS - City police are trying to determine how a 22-year-old man visiting the city died after finding his body behind the Cherry Grove Shopping Center off Forest Drive early this morning.

Police said a caller reported seeing the body on the sidewalk of Skippers Lane, directly behind the shopping center, at 2:20 a.m.

Police found the man had suffered apparent signs of violence. Police have identified him, but are not releasing his name pending notification of next of kin.

Maj. Scott Baker did say the man was a former Annapolis resident who was visiting the area...

Why is this not front page material? Why is it tucked away in the Arundel Digest? If the Police don't know why the body was there, aren't they looking for information? Shouldn't this be more visible to the public so they can solicit that information? I rode up to this scene on my bike around 4:45AM and saw the body. The police had the area taped off. It was very disturbing, especially because I live in the neighborhood nearby. I think everyone wants answers, and it's up to the media to ask for information.
