RIVA - A 46-year-old Baltimore man died last night shortly after walking into a volunteer fire station and verbally confronting firefighters who tried to treat him, county fire officials and police said.
Shortly before 7 p.m., Michael Francis Butkus of 3303 Bloomindale Road walked into the Riva Volunteer Company fire station at 3123 Riva Road complaining of chest pains, said Justin Mulcahy, a county Police Department spokesman.
As firefighters began treating Butkus, he began to act strangely and became combative, Mulcahy said.
